What is your fossil worth?
“A fossil is worth whatever someone pays for it.” Unlike diamonds, which are graded by fixed criteria, fossils are harder to price — every piece is unique. Take four Ichthyosaurus skulls: all show teeth and the scleral ring (the Fossiland logo), yet they differ in completeness, preservation and restoration. Their market prices vary by a factor of four.
Such differences may surprise you at first, but the pricing follows objective criteria. And who better to judge value than a palaeontologist? For a toothache you see a dentist you trust — not a sales rep.

How to sell your fossils
Just get in touch. I usually make an offer based on your photos — they don’t need to be professional, just sharp. Email them to info@fossiland.com, or send them via WhatsApp. A short description of the piece or collection helps. I normally reply within 48 hours. For exceptional pieces, or where a replica can’t be ruled out, I’ll arrange to see the fossil in person.
