categorically criminalize the export of fossils is long. Germany is not one of them. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-57ce0a5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"57ce0a5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Often it is not a complete fake, but individual restorations. The missing tail, the missing snout, the missing paddle are often added. Restorations on the fossil to an extent of &gt;5% are problematic if they are not identified as such. Investigators have been focusing on &#8220;fossil smuggling via the German Connection&#8221; since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nd-aktuell.de\/artikel\/928423.fossilienklau-fuer-die-wissenschaft.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2002<\/a>, most recently in <a href=\"https:\/\/latina-press.com\/news\/282641-polizei-in-deutschland-beschlagnahmt-sechzig-fossilien-aus-brasilien\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2020<\/a>.
